Less than four miles away from our Rancho Bernardo hotel is the Maderas Golf Club – a par-72, 7200-yard course that captures the beauty of the surrounding hill country of north San Diego. The upscale setting is highlighted by creeks, cliffs, waterfalls, forests, lakes, and acres of wildflowers. Open to the public, this top-rated course offers a fun experience for golfers of all levels.

At just over a mile away, the Rancho Bernardo Inn is the nearest golf course to our Courtyard hotel. This resort course was recently renovated, and is as beautiful and playable as ever. In addition to a pro shop, driving range, and putting green, you’ll also find a couple of great places for a post-round meal.

Nearly as close is the Oaks North Golf Club. This executive course offers three par-30, nine-hole tracks that are perfect for golfers looking for a slightly shorter, slightly quicker round of golf. The fairways are wide and the greens are smooth; the grounds and driving range are first-rate.

Reidy Creek Escondido is located ten miles north of our hotel, and well worth the short drive. Uncommonly challenging and picturesque for a par-54, Reidy Creek plays like an abbreviated version of a championship course. In less than three hours, you can enjoy a very satisfying, 18-hole round of golf.

If you can, be sure to visit Torrey Pines – considered by some to be the best municipal golf course in the nation. This legendary course has played host to the US Open, and is a regular stop on the PGA Tour. Here you’ll find two championship-level courses – both with several holes that overlook the Pacific Ocean, both just 13 miles from our Rancho Bernardo hotel. If you want to experience a round at Torrey Pines, be sure to reserve a spot more than a week in advance; only locals can make reservations within a week of tee time.
